(Dishonesty is the number one reason for removal from the program.)

I agree, as a resident of Serenity House or the House of Freedom and Miracles, to the following conditions;

1. Abstinence is required at all times. The use of alcohol, illegal mind-altering chemicals, or other drugs not legally prescribed by your doctor, will not be tolerated. Management must be informed and approve of all over-the-counter and prescribed drugs. Random drug screening which includes the visible observation of urine sample will be done at the discretion of management. Any misuse of drugs or refusal to a random drug screen may result in the loss of the privilege of living at the House.

Residents are also expected to keep their sleeping areas in reasonable order (neat, clean, and orderly) at all times. Beds made daily.

8. Your attendance is required at all regularly scheduled weekly house meetings. Maintaining the facility, taking an active role at house meetings, supporting and sharing with others, builds unity and enhance personal growth. Remember, this house is your home and with your input we all can be successful.

9. All residents are to treat each other with consideration and respect. The main objective of this program is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for recovering addicts/alcoholics, and to aid them to continue progressing in their individual recovery. Unity and active participation are vital to accomplish this goal. Problems arising as a result of community living will be discussed and a solution arrived at during regular weekly house meetings with all residents

10. All residents should attempt to resolve personal conflicts with other residents immediately. Conflicts between residents that are not resolved quickly should be brought to staff attention as soon possible. Staff is available throughout the day/evenings. Please first direct conflicts to senior residents, then property/house manager. If the matter cannot be handled or complete satisfaction given, you may contact a co-director.

13. Responsibility is an essential component of recovery. All residents are to be self-supporting. Rent and Food payments must be current at all times. The weekly charges are $125 of which $20 contributes to weekly shopping. Failure to pay the agreed upon weekly charges will be cause for termination of residency. (Please see policy on past due rent collection)

A. All new residents are required to pay a $125.00 deposit, a minimum of 1 week in advance and a registration fee of $125.00 for a total of $375.00. An addendum to this agreement with co-director is appropriate if the necessary funds are absolutely not available.

Residents will bring in un-cashed paycheck at least until rent is paid in full and a staff approved bank account established.

14. Any resident leaving the program without Management approval will forfeit current weekly rent and deposit. This includes program termination resulting from a violation of this agreement. Any resident leaving prior to completing an approved discharge plan with staff will receive an unsuccessful discharge and will not be considered for reentry for at least six months.
